Across the field
of fallen snow
in shadows stands
a quiet doe.
Her silence tells
that all is well
within this hush
of snowy dell.
The only sound
far or near,
the heartbeat of
a lonely deer.
Your delicate brushstrokes paint such a magical moment here, Charles! We love looking for deer here...this is beautiful. A.
Deer and snow--two of my favorite winter things. And the quiet, which is a third. "this hush of snowy dell" is so beautiful. Thank you for that moment!
I love it. This Fall the deer spenthours in my woodland garden prumimg. During the Winter they hide down in the valley along the White River.I miss them.
Thank you, my deer friends, for your gracious comments.
You've captured such a beautiful moment, Charles. We love our deer and I always feel especially blessed when I spot them unexpectedly.
It's a gorgeous poem about stillness, Charles. That's the theme of my post today, too -- finding quiet winter moments away from the holiday rush.
This just lovely. A wonderful poem to grace this snowy day!
This is just lovely. You make it so easy to hear the hush and majesty of the moment.
