Catfish Aren’t Furry

Catfish aren’t furry.
Bald eagles don’t lose hair.
I’ve never seen a buzzard buzz
While flying through the air.

Fiddler crabs don’t fiddle.
Sea horses have no feet.
Sea cows don’t know how to moo
And cheetahs never cheat.

Bullfrogs have no set of horns.
Flying fish don’t soar.
Dandelions aren’t fierce--
That’s why they never roar.

  1. Cute! I'll bet kids love this one. Reminds me of a poem I wrote about insects, called "Can You Saddle Up a Horsefly?"!

  2. Love the way you think about each animal's name in a very literal way - just like kids! Great poem! =)

  4. Very fun with all the word play. (Also enjoyed your careerhymes at David Harrison's blog earlier this week.)
