Peach Dreams
On a limb
There hangs a peach
Above my head
And out of reach.
I jump and jump
But cannot touch
That one big peach
I love so much.
Tomorrow I will
Try again
Because I will be
Taller then.

Delightful!
ReplyDeleteThat's a peach of a poem!
ReplyDeleteSo glad Poetry Friday brought it within my sights!
This one made me smile -- yes, keep reaching!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Michelle, Cathy and Jama! Enjoyed your Poetry Friday party today, Jama. Talk about making me smile. I've been dreaming of your mango bread all day! ;-)
ReplyDeleteIt's getting to be peach season again - your poem makes my mouth water. Thanks for sharing. =)
ReplyDeleteMakes me remember finally being able to reach...the day I was taller.
ReplyDelete...and it reminds me of my student's comment about the line preschoolers one day in the hall, "I remember being that small, but I don't remember growing!"
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bridget, Donna and Mary Lee.
ReplyDeleteGreat quote from your student, Mary Lee. You should do a book of quotes from your preschoolers. Don't think I've see anything like that since Art Linkletter's "Kids Say the Darnest Things."
