Autumn Leaves
Autumn leaves,
Heaven sent,
Golden coins
Gently spent.
Autumn leaves,
Butterflies,
Fill the blue
October skies.
Autumn leaves,
Tiny kites,
Falling, rising
To new heights.
Autumn leaves,
Red and brown,
Swirling, twirling
To the ground.

I too wrote about Autumn leaves, Charles. They're here in Colorado, too! I love your ''golden coins" and "butterflies". If you peek at my blog, there is a photo of those coins!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda. Always enjoy my visits to your blog. Love your photo of the "coins" and your lovely lines "Autumn greeting/Beauty fleeting!"
ReplyDeleteAutumn leaves as tiny kites is the image that tickles my fancy.
ReplyDeleteThe perfect poem for this Fall day.
ReplyDeleteLove those lines: "Golden coins/ Gently spent" Beautiful images! I wrote haiku about autumn leaves today too, but mine is not as cheerful I am afraid.
ReplyDeleteOur trees shed mostly gold coins. Lovely as they are -- I wish we had some red maples :). Fine poem to greet the season!
ReplyDeleteI can see where Chip learned how to paint - from his dad, who does his own painting, with words....beautiful poem, Charles!
ReplyDeleteThank you all so much for your comments! I always enjoy reading your poems as well. Poetry Fridays are always filled with so much inspiration and encouragement!
ReplyDeleteWere you here...in our yard? So lovely, Charles...the trees thank you. Happy fall!
