"Peach Dreams" by Charles Ghigna

Peach Dreams

On a limb
There hangs a peach
Above my head
And out of reach.

I jump and jump
But cannot touch
That one big peach
I love so much.

Tomorrow I will
Try again
Because I will be
Taller then.

That's a peach of a poem!

So glad Poetry Friday brought it within my sights!

Thanks, Michelle, Cathy and Jama! Enjoyed your Poetry Friday party today, Jama. Talk about making me smile. I've been dreaming of your mango bread all day! ;-)

Makes me remember finally being able to reach...the day I was taller.

...and it reminds me of my student's comment about the line preschoolers one day in the hall, "I remember being that small, but I don't remember growing!"

Thanks, Bridget, Donna and Mary Lee.

Great quote from your student, Mary Lee. You should do a book of quotes from your preschoolers. Don't think I've see anything like that since Art Linkletter's "Kids Say the Darnest Things."
