The Hungry Monster

I’m a hungry monster,
I’m eating a bear,
A lion, a tiger,
An animal fair!

I open the zoo box
And reach in their cages.
I take my sweet time
And eat them in stages.

I nibble their heads
And chew on their feet,
Their little round bodies,
My favorite treat.

I dunk them in milk
And swirl them around.
I’m the hungriest monster
That’s ever been found.

And when there is nothing
But crumbs on the floor...
Animal Crackers,
I’m ready for MORE!

I loved these as a kid many moons ago - still smile whenever I see the boxes in the store! Thanks for sharing.

Just last week I saw a bag of the kind that are frosted with the little dot sprinkles on them, and I went straight back to Summer Vacation Bible School!!!

Hehe--love this one, Charles. I always feel dominant and slightly guilty when trying to decide which part to eat first!

Thanks, Laura! Always enjoy hearing from you ... and reading you!

I saw animal crackers with new packaging the other day and felt a pang.

This is great, Charles. I love it.

Thanks, Joyce! Appreciate your comment. I, too, wish the Nabisco would keep the classic look to their Animal Crackers. It's the parents and grandparents who buy them for the kids. The marketing department must know that tradition and nostalgia are key selling points. ;-)
