The answer to the artist
Comes quicker than a blink
Though initial inspiration
Is not what you might think.

The Muse is full of magic,
Though her vision’s sometimes dim;
The artist does not choose the work,
It is the work that chooses him.

Sometimes I wish that muse would pick up her spectacles and give us all some clarity. Thanks, Charles!

Ah, yes, it is so. Very clever, Charles!

Yes, but Charles, why does my muse have to strike at 3 AM?

Thank you all for dropping in. I'm enjoying reading your latest offerings.

Joy, Chip and I must share your same Muse. She visits us in the wee hours of the morning. He stays out in his studio painting until around 4 am every morning and I'm usually up here writing in my treehouse until 2 am or so. I like to write late at night and early in the morning, then do my revisions and answer emails during the day. It would be fun to have you or one of our other Friday bloggers do a feature on "What Time of Day Does the Muse Visit You?" ;-)

I believe this too, the work chooses the artist. Nice and clever.
